I have been rescuing Rottweilers since 2002,I was with Majesty Rottweiler Rescue,
Inc for 4 years and founded Mountain Rottie Rescue of New York in 2006. I am a Certified
Dog Trainer/ Behaviorist & graduated from Animal Behavior College in 2007 . I rescue
because I want to help make a difference in this world for the homeless, abused and
neglected dogs of society . Mountain Rottie Rescue was founded as a safe Haven for
Adoptable Rottweilers until new homes could be found. I have dedicated my life to
this work and focused much of my time & efforts to working with Abused Rottweilers

My story starts when a relative of mine had a rottie that he could not keep as he was moving overseas. I had met the dog, Tasha, a few times and quickly feel head over heals for her. My husband, however, did not want a dog and said if we ever got a dog "it wouldn't be rottie". I convinced him to dog sit and he too quickly feel in love. Our love for Tasha made us want to help others in need. I knew Tasha was spoiled and I knew others needed help, but I never realized the extent of the abuse and neglect that so many dogs suffer from until I became involved in rescue. I used to take a few nice vacations but I have now realized there is nothing more rewarding to me than seeing a dog that has no one, been dumped at a shelter scared, hungry, to be put down, find a loving home. I know we can't save every rottie but I will do my best to help the ones we can. Since Tasha's passing I have fostered several rotties, helping them find their forever homes and have adopted two wonderful rescued rotties.

Please make a donation today & help us continue to help dogs in need .We rely on

My first adopted dog, Annie, has led me to rescue. She has proven how awesome rescue dogs can be and how every homeless dog deserves a chance. Every dog that has since come into my home she takes under her wing and helps me get them ready for their own home. She is patient and kind, lets them sleep on top of her but also teaches them how to behave. To watch her give back what she has been given is the most amazing thing and it makes me love what I do even more.

I am thrilled to be part of Mountain Rottie Rescue, coordinating rescue and volunteer work in Vermont. I grew up in a family that was involved with dog training, and with animal rescue and have continued in this vein all of my life. In 2001 I became very involved with dog rescue, and began to focus on Rottweilers, a breed that I cannot imagine my life without. I am grateful for all of the people and each dog I have come across in rescue, each dog I meet makes me more dedicated to rescue. I wake up thinking of rescuing Rottweilers, and go to bed still thinking about the Rotties. My husband and I currently have four adopted Rottweilers (three started as fosters) who remind us every day of how lucky we are to have rescues in our lives.
